Event description

Description

CHAI Collaborative Ensemble's 2018-19 Season Opener explores stories inspired by nature and folklore. Dan Welcher's Mill Songs for oboe and bassoon are a nod to Franz Schubert's iconic song cycle Die Schöne Müllerin. Marcia Kraus' Three Fairy Tales for soprano, oboe, and piano pay homage to three stories by Hans Christian Andersen. Completing the program are Chicago composer Daniel Pesca's Whence the Shadows Fell for soprano, bassoon, and piano; and Francis Poulenc's Trio for oboe, bassoon, and piano. Tickets are $20/General and $10/Students & Industry, and are available to purchase in advance and at the door.
