Description

Join us for Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday, September 21 from 9:00 am to noon.


Litter pick-up sticks will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. Gloves will be provided, and make sure to bring your own reusable water bottle. All other cleanup materials will be provided. Please wear working attire, no open-toed shoes. All youth under 18 require supervision and transportation to cleanup site.

Please DON’T

  • Go in the water!

  • Pick up any dangerous or hazardous materials – including needles, syringes, bloody clothing and bandages. Notify your Site Coordinator immediately if you find any of these objects.

  • Pick up heavy and/or awkward objects such as tires or large pieces of scrap metal, unless approved by the Site Coordinator.

  • Pick up dead animals – Don’t stomp on bags.

  • Overexert yourselves! Take breaks and drink plenty of water.

Please DO

  • Use caution around creek banks – they can be muddy and slippery.

  • Stay clear of homeless encampments.

  • Wear gloves at all times.

  • Stay in a group or work with a buddy.

  • Be cautious of poison oak!

  • Lift with your legs, not your back.
