Event Details

As a founder, should you stay or should you go?  Should you exit; yes or no?  For many founders these types of questions are asked routinely, perhaps daily.

In this CBIC Tech Night Takeover, a panel of subject-matter experts will share with you answers to these questions, as well as answer related questions, such as: Why, when and how should I exit?  Why would I not want to sell my company?  What should I be doing now to better prepare for an exit?  What common mistakes are made by founders at exit?  What is life like after an exit?  Can I build a company and exit again?

Please join us if you want answers to any of the questions described above.

This moderated fire-side chat styled panel consists of:

Janet Miller: Founder and President/CEO of Marketing Mojo (she chose to stay)

Matthew Hantzmon: Founder and CEO of Hexagon Energy (with prior startups, he chose to go/exit)

Steve Keeler: Private Equity and Venture Capital Partner of McGuireWoods (as legal counsel, he helps founders and companies go/exit)

Jonathan Brabrand: Managing Director of Fahrenheit Advisors (as M&A consultant, he also helps founders and companies go/exit)

with Justin Ritter as the panel moderator

Agenda:

5:00 - 5:30 PM Check-in and grab a drink!

5:30 - 6:00 PM Introductions & Primer on Exit Types

6:00 - 7:00 PM Panel Discussion

7:00 - 7:30 PM After hours networking with snacks + drinks

LOCATION: Cville Machine is in the Michie Building -- directly across the street from the downtown police station and Market Street parking garage. Enter the courtyard, pass Tin Whistle Irish Pub, enter the building at the end of the courtyard through the door on the far left (in the corner).

PARKING: The Market Street Parking Garage is conveniently located across the street; however, validation is NOT provided at the event.  Most of the street parking around Cville Machine is two (2) hour public parking until 6 p.m.; this means if you park at these spots after 4 p.m. you will have free parking for the entire event.
