Join us on Wednesday, September, 25th at 7:00 am for a full breakfast, discussion, Q&A and networking at the Dilworth Neighborhood Grille at 911 E. Morehead St, Charlotte, NC 28204. The program begins at 7:30 am and ends promptly at 8:30 am.

Plan to arrive at 7 am to meet some new friends and reconnect with business professionals. We will conclude the program promptly at 8:30 am, you are welcome to stay and continue to network.

We read about many businesses that aspire to become the next unicorn, and some of them are right here in Charlotte. The panelists on our September CBEX Speaker Series take a different approach to reach their business goals. We are delighted to bring them in for a panel discussion that will enlighten us on how they lead their businesses in new and innovative ways.

Bios of our panelists:

Julie:

As President of Donald Haack Diamonds & Fine Gems since 2007, having taken over from her father, Julie combines her passion for distinctly unique jewelry with a desire to assist her clients in matching jewelry with their personal style. Raised on the Caribbean Island of Grenada, Julie earned her BA degree from UNC-Chapel Hill, followed by a Master’s degree in Naturopathic Health. Under her leadership Donald Haack Diamonds & Fine Gems received numerous awards and accolades. Julie is active in the Charlotte Community and serves on several local Boards. Julie enjoys Functional Health and Gardening. She is married to David Murray, has two wonderful sons, Warren, 30 who just joined the business, and Geoffrey, 28. Plus three bonus children, and grand children.

Jeff:

Jeff Conway owns four Ruth’s Chris Steak House franchises, two in Charlotte, NC and one each in Savannah, GA and Asheville, NC. He has developed a brand and partnered in Napa On Providence, Napa-Kingsley in Ft. Mill, SC and the PumpHouse as well as partner in three Smoothie King Franchise units. Jeff joined the Ruth’s Chris Steak House in 2001 as Chief Financial Officer, served a six-month term as President in 2003 and became a franchisee in 2005. Jeff and his wife Paula opened their first franchise location in SouthPark of Charlotte, NC in October of 2005. They own and manage the restaurants through their company Charlotte Prime, LLC. which generate approximately $30 million in sales and employ approximately 500 personnel. Prior to Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Mr. Conway worked 10 years for Rent-Way, Inc. serving as CFO and President. During Jeff’s tenure at Rent-Way, the Company grew from 17 units and $7 million of sales to approximately 1,100 units and $700 million in sales. He also spent 7 years with Coopers & Lybrand and 3 years with Ernst & Young. Jeff served on the Charlotte/Mecklenburg Opportunity Task Force. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Mecklenburg County Chapter of the North Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association, Charlotte Wine and Food and Central Piedmont Community College Foundation. He is also Tournament Chairman for the Annual HeartBright Invitational.

Clint:

Clint is the COO/CTO at Zoe Baby Products is a family oriented company with a laser-like focus on families, parents, and their little ones. ZOE's core mission is to provide lightweight, portable, and high quality products for families on the go.

Brandy:

Brandy is the managing partner, majority owner, transactional team lead, and co-founder of Milazzo Webb Law, PLLC. As a business owner and entrepreneur, she has experienced firsthand the challenges and rewards that come with leading a fast growing business and learning how and when to harness that growth. Brandy has always led the firm with a passion and focus on her vision of creating a new kind of law firm that both its lawyers, staff and clients love with the priority being that it provides continuous excellent service to its clients while maintaining the culture of team among its attorneys and staff. This passion, vision and leadership that is shared throughout the team has enabled the firm to successfully grow the past six years.
