You don’t want to miss this talk! Our distinguished guest speaker, Dr. Dean Zimmerman, will discuss cosmological arguments for the existence of God, and challenge some of the ways in which cosmologists have responded to these arguments.
Dr. Zimmerman is one of the most influential Christian philosophers of our time, well-known and highly respected by both Christian and secular scholars. He is a professor of philosophy at Rutgers University, where he also serves as director of the Rutgers Center for the Philosophy of Religion. Dr. Zimmerman has authored countless articles in metaphysics and philosophy of religion, and has edited or co-edited over a dozen books, including Metaphysics: The Big Questions (1998), The Oxford Handbook of Metaphysics (2003), Persons: Human and Divine (2007),Contemporary Debates in Metaphysics (2008), and nine volumes of the ongoing series Oxford Studies in Metaphysics. He is presently writing a book on the philosophy of religion for the series Princeton Foundations of Philosophy (Princeton University Press). And he's the keyboardist for a rock band. Seriously.
Dr. Zimmerman’s visit to The King’s College has been organized by Drs. Blander, Talcott, and Hershey, and is funded by a grant from the Society of Christian Philosophers.
