“C&C’s uplifting vocals build to the climax of a track like “Come Home” with subtlety and real emotion.” - The Independent
This Christmas, Cattle & Cane will be celebrating a triumphant 2016 with their biggest headline show to date at The Empire in Middlesbrough. Built in 1897 as a music hall, the 1100 capacity venue has played host to a variety of performers over the years including Charlie Chaplin, Fat Boy Slim and the Scissor Sisters!
Consisting of siblings Joe, Helen, Fran and Vin Hammill, with family friend Tom Chapman on percussion, last year saw Cattle & Cane release their long awaited debut album ‘Home’ and they celebrated with a sold out gig at Teesside University in front of 1,000 loyal and passionate fans. Indeed, the band’s fan-base helped propel ‘Home’ into the top 100 of the official mid-week album chart and the top 30 of the weekly independent album chart, sandwiched between Arctic Monkeys and Adele no less.
The band followed up their stunning album launch with their first ever headline tour of the UK in October 2015, which included numerous sold out dates across the UK everywhere from London to Manchester to Newcastle. After the success of the October tour, Cattle & Cane took to the road once again in February 2016, with yet more ‘Sold Out’ signs appearing across the country.
They’ll be spending spring at the legendary ICP Studios in Belgium recording their brand new album and then summer will be spent appearing at numerous festivals across the UK - and beyond - as the band’s ubiquity in their native Teesside continues to spread.
As heard on BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 1, Amazing Radio and Channel 4's Sunday Brunch, Cattle & Cane have been heavily championed by the BBC Introducing team and performed at T In The Park and BBC Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park before they'd even released their debut single, I Will Rise - which has now had 2 million streams on Spotify!
A live session on BBC Radio 2 for Dermot O’Leary followed and one of the tracks they performed has since been released on Dermot’s Saturday Sessions compilation, alongside such luminaries as Keane, The Stereophonics and The XX. Cattle & Cane’s music has also been featured on a variety of TV shows including Made In Chelsea, The Only Way Is Essex and MTV’s Catfish, as well as on popular Brazilian soap-opera Avenida Brasil, where they were included on the show’s official soundtrack alongside the likes of Taylor Swift, Coldplay and Paul McCartney.
So, join them on Thursday 22nd December at The Empire for a gig which is sure to live long in the memory.
