Jean Wright’s career spans four decades of selling experience with corporations, nonprofits, and media companies. A graduate of Marywood University with a BA in Communication Arts/Radio & TV, Jean has found creative ways to effectively use her skills for public speaking and writing.
She had early success working in Washington, DC, and Los Angeles for the National Captioning Institute marketing to clients in the television industry. She also worked in sales for personnel agencies, sports entertainment, business office services, member organizations as well as print and digital media companies. She has been recognized for excellence in customer service and sales as well as being promoted to sales management-level positions.
Jean’s aha moment came when she was president of a women’s business organization where she met sales entrepreneurs experiencing confidence problems. The desire to help women raise their confidence levels in sales motivated her to write her first book, Selling Your Confidence: Forging a Successful Sales Career from Mint Cookies to Martinis. Her career journey takes the reader on a path strewn with confidence-building challenges starting with selling Girl Scout Cookies at age 11 and throughout her adult sales career. Jean’s book will launch late March 2023.
Jean speaks to business organizations and women’s groups about using their authentic skills to sell more confidently. She has her own consulting business to help entrepreneurs and sales teams. Jean lives in Frederick MD with her husband, Tom.
