About this Event

What is the Futurebound Summit?

Futurebound is a movement of entrepreneurs, investors, nonprofits and other public- and private-sector leaders coming together to fuel innovation in child development. Our next generation is depending on us—and we can’t afford to wait. The Futurebound Summit is a time to catalyze the Colorado ecosystem focused on young children by bringing everyone together.

Futurebound is partnering with Uncharted to host a four-day summit in Denver that will bring together ventures, investors, leading experts, policymakers and more for a series of events and workshops that will supercharge innovation to change the future of child development.

Catalyst Session: "Childhood Mental Wellness is More than the Absence of Illness"

Often we think of children's mental health as prevention or treatment of illness; but there is so much more to children's mental health. If a wellness model to mental health is used, this can have a profound impact on the trajectory of children's development. The current model for mental health is largely reactive; treating illness rather than creating mental health. We will entertain participants through lively discussion, working through scenarios to encourage best practices, and challenging participants to think differently about children's mental health.

By the end, participants will:

  1. Understand the importance of childhood mental wellness;
  2. Know ways to change the landscape, policies, and dialogue around mental health; and
  3. Find solutions for well-being in our communities.

Agenda

  • Each session will be a combination of discussion and facilitated activities with attendees.
