Event description

Description

Come and learn how to catalogue and document women's history from feminist archivist Heather Roberts.

This year has seen a flurry of activity across the city celebrating and marking 100 years of Votes for Women! How do we make sure this activity is recorded for posterity and becomes part of Manchester's history?

A practical workshop where we'll learn about the significance of documenting and cataloguing archive and museums collections for women's history, with practical tips and exercises.

Image taken from the exhibition leaflet for Centenary City, the Pankhurst Centre's exhibition about Manchester's responses to Vote100. The work depicted is Ní Saoirse go Saoirse na mBan (There is no freedom until the freedom of women) by Emily Kane, student at Manchester School of Art.
