Set in the Mississippi Delta, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is the story of Brick and his wife Maggie, who are celebrating the 65th birthday of Brick’s father, Big Daddy Pollitt. Big Daddy is bothered by the rocky relationship between his beloved son Brick, an aging football hero who has taken up drinking, and his beautiful and feisty wife Maggie. As the hot summer evening unfolds, the veneer of Southern Gentility slips away as unpleasant truths emerge.
Our Story is an Odyssey
- In March of 2020, Bay Area Stage was poised to open the compelling, Tennessee Williams classic, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, when less than a week before opening night, the entire world came to a screeching halt. Theatrical productions, nationwide, were instructed to close their doors to both actors and audience.
Now, after rescheduling, no less than three more times, due to the new world scourge; Bay Area Stage is once again ready to bring you, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof!
Please come see my amazing cast, who have stayed with this production through the long and challenging two-year long journey, as well as the actors who have joined them along the way. They are the most dedicated, passionate about their craft, people I have ever met. It has been an honor to direct them. I am in awe of what they have accomplished, as I have watched them bring magic to our stage. The play is riveting. It's brilliant dialogue, brilliantly delivered.
The show will run August 5th through August 21st, 2022 on Friday and Saturday nights at 8PM and Sunday’s at 3PM – Tickets are $22 dollars for General Admission and a discount for Seniors, 65 and older, with tickets for just $20.The play is presented in 2 acts and includes a 10-minute intermission. Running time is approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes. I hope to see you at the theatre!
Best regards,
Jeff Lowe
