Event description

Description

Let’s cast and bust some stigma!

Join us on Tuesday 8th May for a workshop led by Liverpool based artists Joseph Cotgrave. We'll be casting replicas of ARV medication - which is used to suppress the HIV virus - into sweets and pin badges. Whilst we do we'll discuss HIV in today’s society, and the stigma that comes with a HIV diagnosis.

Joseph’s art practice explores HIV and the stigma surrounding the virus through his experiences living with HIV. By turning cultural spaces into safe spaces to have discussions around issues such as HIV and mental health Joseph aims to confront stigma - provide useful and open conversations around sensitive subject matter.

Joseph will also be producing two newly commissioned artworks for L22 Press that will be on display outside Crosby Library throughout March.

The workshop has limited spaces available and is open to adults and young people aged 16+.
