Hands-on tips about how to manage cash flow issues during and after this COVID-19 pandemic

About this Event

COVID-19 has now an impact on all businesses. Some businesses (for example, travel, hospitality and events) suffer much more than some other (e.g. digital services). This can cause challenges to have enough cash quite soon. The cash flow issues can cause chain reactions to many companies, when one company cannot pay their invoices, also many other companies start to have cash flow issues. This is especially difficult for startups and SMEs that have no cash reserves and no option to get credit from banks.

The situation most probably has also an impact on startup fundraising. Startups, especially pre-revenue, are better isolated from this and investors should anyway think about the longer term value, three to seven years. At the same time, this has an impact on the general sentiment and also on LPs that invest in VCs and it can, at least, decrease valuations and investors can also utilise the situation. Sequoia already made its warning post, as they did during the 2008 financial crisis. At the same time, Benchmarks that don't too often agree with Sequoia emphasised opportunities.

Startup Commons founders and advisors have decades experience managing SME and growth business, also through difficult times, like the 2000 dot com bubble and 2008 financial crisis. This situation is unique, but there are common lessons, what we can learn, how to manage your financials and cash positions during a crisis.

Startup Commons organizes a free webinar to discuss the situation and how it can be managed. The target group is especially entrepreneurs and management of SMEs and startups. Some of the topics that the webinar will cover are:

  • Good cash flow forecasts as an important management tool,
  • How to start actions early enough,
  • Alternative models to get extra cash,
  • Focus on customers and markets that are in a better position,
  • How to better manage costs.

In the end of the session, there will be Q&A and experiences sharing from other entrepreneurs and executives. Don't miss it out and book your place!
