This course is designed to develop and enhance the reports and testimony skills of both detectives and officers. The three-day workshop includes presentations on how to improve police reports, case organization, delivery of a case to a prosecutor, and how to effectively testify.
This workshop features opportunities for attendees to learn from state and federal prosecutors who will review and critique report writing and in-court testimony. There will be mock charging conferences and trials.
Attendees must bring a narrative from a case they are either currently working on or a case that has already made its way through the court system. The United States Attorney's Office - Eastern District of Wisconsin and the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office will provide prosecutor trainers.
