Event description

Description

The theme of this year's meeting is "Making Children Happy in School". Last autumn we examined the mental health crisis affecting young people. Now we want to move on to what can be done to make school the positive experience it ought to be.

Our keynote is speaker Natasha Devon, who as mental health tsar was awarded an MBE in 2015 for her services to young people. She will lead a discussion of what needs to be fixed, including issues such as funding for mental health support, the too-narrow curriculum and how schools are inspected.

Madeleine Holt, parental campaigner from Rescue Our Schools and More than a Score will also join us. We want to hear views from parents, students, teachers and all those who care about education about what must be done to fix our flawed education system. We know your time is precious, so this is an opportunity to have your say, meet other parents and students, in a short afternoon session. We look forward to seeing you.

Join us to strengthen our voice and help us promote a coherent message.

Who we are and what we do

CASE has been campaigning to improve state education since the 1950s, when the big debate of the time was the 11 plus and comprehensive education. CASE works with other organisations to analyse the problems, raise awareness and identify solutions. We are completely independent and rely upon our members for support. If you are not a already CASE member, take this opportunity to join us and get involved. There will be a brief AGM during the meeting.
