California's Accountability Tools: Dashboards & Other State and Local Data

 

Recommended tools to develop, implement, and monitor LEA and school

plans to ensure high levels of CA State Standards-Aligned teaching

and learning for all students.

 

This no-fee workshop is focused on the recommended tools to develop, implement,

and monitor LEA and school continuous improvement plans. Guidance on collecting

and analyzing data using state recommended tools to measure progress, identify and

prioritize greatest areas of need, establish goals, and determine necessary next steps

that inform school plans will be provided.

 


 

Instructors:

Robin Hall

Executive Director, Regional System of District and School Support, Region 4

Dr. Robin Hall has served as Executive Director of the Regional System of District & School Support, Region 4, since 2001. Prior to her leadership of R4SDSS, she was a classroom teacher for twenty years, worked as a site – and district-level administrator, and provided accountability and categorical program guidance and assistance at the county office level.  She earned a M.S. in Educational Leadership at CSU East Bay, and in 2005, after completing a dissertation on the impact of publicly-funded intervention and support programs on low-performing schools, earned an Ed.D. at St. Mary’s College.

 

 

Kelly Wylie

Program Director, Regional System of District and School Support, Region 4


Kelly Wylie, Region 4 System of District and School Support Program Director, is a veteran educator with over 20 years of experience. Prior to her work at R4SDSS, Kelly served as a middle school administrator, an instructional coach and a classroom teacher. She provides expert practitioner technical assistance in the areas of Professional Learning Communities, Accountability, Multi-tiered System of Supports and ESSA; having presented at national, state and local conferences.

 



Objectives:

  • Participants will learn how to analyze and collect data using dashboards, stakeholder surveys, and other recommended school and district self-assessment and progress-monitoring tools.
  • Participants will learn to identify greatest areas of success and opportunity
  • Participants will rehearse a variety of data analysis protocols
  • Participants will be provided with recent accountability updates and examine relevant implementation strategies

When is the event?

There are 2 opportunities for you to attend this training. The following dates are:

All trainings will take place from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.


Where is the event?

All trainings will be held at the Alameda County Office of Education located at 313 West Winton Ave, Hayward, CA 94544.


What can/ can't I bring to the event?

Laptops are highly recommended for all of our workshops. Many of the resources offered are digital.

Region 4, System of District and School Support

No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act of 2001 requires each state to establish a statewide system of intensive and sustained support and improvement for local education agencies and schools receiving Title I funding to increase opportunities for all students to meet state academic content and achievement standards. As a result, the Regional System of District and School Support (RSDSS) was established, and partners with the California Department of Education (CDE), the Comprehensive Assistance Center, and county offices of education to form the Statewide System of School Support (S4) and satisfy the requirements of NCLB. The RSDSS of Region 4 provides leadership, resources, and technical assistance to the schools, districts, and county offices of Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo and Solano in order to increase their collective capacity to support students in meeting or exceeding the state's academic content standards.

Cancellation Policy: Registrations cancelled seven (7) working days or less prior to the workshop are assessed the full charge of the registration.  If the registration is cancelled eight (8) to fifteen (15) working days prior to the workshop, a fifty percent charge is assessed.  If the registration is cancelled sixteen (16) or more working days prior to the workshop, a full refund is given. ***RSDSS reserves the right to cancel or reschedule our trainings as necessary***
