Event description

Carry for Life! © III: Hit the Ground & Low Light

Must have taken Carry For Life I and Carry For Life III

Only 5 Students per Class

After Carry for Life!© II you can progress to this specialized level of instruction where you will review the tactics and techniques previously learned. Standing tall may look great on the big screen, but in real life doing so can lead to undesired outcomes. In this class, new firing positions such as kneeling, sitting and prone will be added as you learn how to shoot from the ground and other non-traditional firing positions.

In addition, you will learn how to think as you fire from cover, think as you fire while moving, shoot-move-shoot, fire at moving targets, and you will be challenged with problem solving situations, such as firing from left and right barricades.

Finally this course emphasizes state-of-the-art techniques in the deployment of your handgun in low-light situations, including shooting while holding a flashlight in one hand techniques.

You will practice ready positions, drawing your gun while holding a flashlight in one hand, coping with malfunctions, and reloading. Use of cover and concealment while using a flashlight and other light sources, including available light, will be taught.

Prerequisite: Must have successfully completed Carry For Life I& II

Tuition: $75.00

Ammunition: 200 rounds of factory ammunition is required

Hours: 4 hours

What You Need to Bring

Handgun: Your own double-action revolver or single action/double-action semi-auto pistol, center-fire caliber. It must be in good working order.

Light: The suggested type is Streamlight, Maglite or Surefire. We will have some on hand if you do not own one yet or would like to wait on buying one until you better understand your needs.

Reloading: For a revolver, you will need two speed loaders. For a semi-automatic, you will need two additional magazines. You need a means to carry the speed loaders or magazines as you would for everyday carry.

Holster: Your daily carry holster. Holsters must correctly fit the weapon, completely cover the trigger guard, remain open when the weapon is removed, and not allow the weapon to cover the shooter’s body. No Thigh Rigs (Galco: Speed Master, Combat Master, or Avenger; Bianchi: Askins' Avenger or 4L. Kydex is allowed). No Serpa Holsters by Blackhawk, gun pouches, shoulder, ankle, or cross-draw holster are allowed.

Belt: You will need a good quality belt on which to hold your holster. Tip: Be sure to wear pants that have belt loops that the belt fits.

Protection: Prescription glasses or shooting glasses are required, along with hearing protection. Eye and ear protection will be provided at no charge if needed.

Our Money Back Guarantee: No matter your age, ability, or prior experience before this four hour class is over you will be shooting with ease and confidence. However, if by the end of class you feel we have failed to keep this promise just say so in class and we will refund your money on the spot! That's our promise to you! ~ Brant Williams - Nationally Certified Handgun Firearms Instructor, Chief Range Safety Officer and Owner of Frontier Firearms.
