Event description

Strong - Off Hand, Take Cover!

Must have taken Carry For Life I

Only 5 Students per Class

In Carry for Life© II you will learn shooting techniques: rapid reloading, one-arm shooting (left arm and right arm), malfunction drills, half-turns and full turns, and some close quarter battle (CQB).

Then you will learn to take cover! Many police officers and individuals are injured or killed while standing mere feet from an object that if used correctly, would have stopped incoming projectiles. In addition, many are injured or killed because cover was unnecessarily abandoned prior to the threat being neutralized or where individuals mistook concealment for cover.

  • Cover is an object which effectively stops or deflects a projectile.
  • Concealment is anything which hides a person from the observation.
  • Concealment is NOT always cover.
  • This course is about COVER!

Lecture Topics Include: Review of Course I. Cover, what constitutes cover, when to use cover, depth of cover, how to use cover, how to develop situational awareness with an eye toward identifying cover, the difference between Cover & Concealment, an understanding of the capability of different weapons, different types of cover - objects that stop handgun rounds may not stop or a rifle round, crowding cover, when to move to cover / when to fight, good shooting techniques from cover, introduction to clearing techniques - “Slicing the Pie.”

Firing Range Drills Include: Proper techniques for moving forward, laterally, and backward to gain cover. Target engagement from behind cover, best use of cover. Take home drills.

Prerequisite: Must have a Tennessee Handgun Carry Permit, NRA Basic Pistol Course, or other approved training AND have completed Carry for Life© I.

Yes, but there is a small $15 transfer charge.

Must I bring my printed ticket to the event?

It is best if you do. However, we can check you in without it.

You may transfer your seat to another person. Because this is very small class we cannot allow refunds. If you cannot make it to this class, send someone in your place. Or if you call us five (5) days before class and a waitlisted person buys your slot, we will transfer your ticket to another class. If no one fills your slot, we cannot refund your class tuition.

What is the REFUND POLICY?

No, because we would not know who is in attendance. However, if someone has given you their ticket please have them contact us we can adjust our records. There is a small $15 service charge for transferring a ticket to another person.

I missed my class. May I get a refund?

In order to help hold down the cost of our classes, we count on every seat being filled. Thus, we do not offer refunds (see Refund Policy above).

What if I am LATE to class?

You should arrive about 15 minutes early (prior to the start time of the class) to assure you can get settled before the course begins. Classes start PROMPTLYat the scheduled start time. Because late arrivals may disrupt the class, you may be prohibited from entering the classroom until the first break which could jeopardize your successful completion of the course.
