Carole Nielsen-Watercolor Batik Workshop
Friday, September 22, 2017 at 9:00 AM - Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 3:00 PM (EDT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Watercolor batik is a resist method that creates a loose look that can not be achieved with traditional watercolor methods. You will get great results with this fun and exciting technique. We will begin with a preplanned design to learn the process and progress to a larger more detailed design from your sketches and drawings. We will start with a value sketch, draw the outline on rice paper with a micron pen and begin with waxing all the whites. The process starts with painting light to dark with waxing one value at a time. The final step is the crackle effect which creates a beautiful batik. We will learn how to mount our paintings on watercolor paper for framing with a mat and creating a deckle edge. We will also learn how to mount our paintings onto a gallery wrapped canvas for an amazing look!
