Carnival of the Animals and other new works

About this Event
Some of our favorite animals are taking center stage! Join us for Saint-Saëns’ classic Carnival of the Animals with creative choreography by Joseph Jefferies and performed by the talented trainees from The Conservatory at Northeast School of Ballet, the official training school of NYB.
Composed in 1886, Carnival of the Animals was not performed publicly in Saint-Saëns’ lifetime. In fact, it was only written as a quick favor for a friend and it was only intended to be played at parties. But since then, with its funny and charming impressions of animals of all stripes, Carnival of the Animals has become one of the most popular works ever written for young audiences.
Carnival of the Animals, choreographed by Joseph Jefferies, along with other new works created by Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux and Jeremy Ruth Howes, is a perfect way to welcome our spring season!
