The Carnegie Mellon Wind Ensemble opens its season with a thrilling program featuring three students. Jennifer Jo, flute, on Philip Sparke’s A Lindisfarne Rhapsody opening with a reflective flute solo and ending with the Wind Ensemble having the final say. Brothers, Kevin and Matthew Hannequin, on trombone and trumpet respectively, perform Herbert L. Clarke’s warm and lyrical Cousins.

Reynaldo Hahn: Le bal de Beatrice d’Este
Percy Grainger: Colonial Song
Philip Sparke: A Lindisfarne Rhapsody
Herbert L. Clarke: Cousins
Claude Arrieu: Dixtour
Ernst Toch: Spiel fur  Blaserochester

Cost: Free and open to the public, but a ticket is required.

About the Ensemble
The Carnegie Mellon Wind Ensemble utilizes a flexible instrumentation of winds, brass, and percussion to perform repertoire from standard concert band works to contemporary compositions of various instrumental combinations.
