Event description

Description

The Caribbean Women In Media is in honor of the late Gwen Ifill that broke barriers for all women.

What is more unique about Ms. Ifill was that she was of Caribbean lineage. Born and raised in Queens, NY, Ms. Ifill’s was first-generation American of Panamanian and Barbadian parents.

What role might Ms. Ifill have projected into the current media climate? How might the intersect of race, class, gender, and transnationality frame her discourse?

Our guest panelist will attempt to unfold the possibilities on how we might reimagine our voices, while we reclaim our dignity, through the lens of Gwen Ifill.
