Event description

Description

Join the Hampton Roads Caribbean Film Festival (HRCFF) as we bring monthly Caribbean film nights to Hampton Roads!

In February, we're highlighting must-see films and bringing awareness to hurricane recovery efforts around the Caribbean. From the Virgin Islands to Dominica, Puerto Rico, and Barbuda, the storm-swept region faces a long road to recovery. 25% of our ticket sales will be going to hurricane relief.

Homelands - Homelands is the culmination of a year-long project in which four acclaimed British urban musicians returned to their respective homelands to connect with their cultural roots and create and produce new music. Mercury Music Prize-nominated Terri Walker travelled to Jamaica, double-Mobo winner Shakka visited Dominica, while grime artists Diztortion and Saskilla headed to Suriname and Senegal, respectively. (Dominica, Jamaica, Senegal, Suriname. 72 minutes. Documentary.)

Unbound - A detective teams up with a rogue JDF officer to stop a sex trafficking ring in Jamaica. (Jamaica. 30 minutes. Short Action.)

Cows Wearing Glasses (Las Vacas con Gafas) - Marso, a lonely, eccentric painter and art professor, is losing his sight. As the world as he knows it comes to an end, he is now forced to re-examine an existence filled with professional successes but unsatisfying personal relationships. (Puerto Rico. 93 minutes. Drama.)

Tickets are $10 each. Drinks (non-alcoholic) will be on sale. Donations are also accepted.
