Event description
CareWalk to Cure Thalassemia!

About this Event

If you do not know what Thalassemia is, you are not alone. Thalassemia is a genetic blood disorder that causes one's red blood cells to fail. Many need monthly blood transfusions and medication is expensive.

Many kids from the earliest stages of life need blood transfusions every month. They appreciate life. They are joyful fighters.

All touched by thalassemia invite you to join us to walk for a cure on May 5, 2019.

This is the DC/MD/VA walk, one of many held across the nation. All proceeds benefit the Cooley’s Anemia Foundation- a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. www.thalassemia.org

The walk will circle Bethesda Row, and is doable for kids and those with disabilities.

Live music from musicians from the DC Metro including Eli Lev https://eli-lev.com/home/ and Emma G. https://www.emmagmusic.com/ to get you groovin!

Activities for kids including face painting and balloon animals!

Representatives from local businesses!

A silent auction of some cool prizes!

50/50 raffle!

Keynote speakers, and more!

There will be plenty of info about Thalassemia and how you can help!

We welcome any and all to attend to learn more and have a good time for a good cause. It is a public event.

Please come and show support for free, and if you are able, please register as a walker and receive a t-shirt and badge.
