Description

For Caregivers and Family members of those affected by Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias

This series provides helpful information to those caring for loved ones affected by memory health conditions. Each session builds on previous sessions to increase caregivers’ knowledge of maintaining their loved one’s independence. You will need to register for each class individually. Space is limited to 50 individuals per class.

These classes are taught by the Professional Team Members of the Memory Health Program, and other community professionals, including Nurse Practitioners & Licensed Medical Social Worker.

Thursday September 7 - Session 1: Alzheimer’s, Aging, and Assessment

Tuesday September 12 - Session 2: Behaviors, Beliefs, and the Baggage We Bring

Thursday September 2 - Session 3: Communication, Caring, and Coping

Thursday September 2 - Session 4: Driving, Dangers, and Drugs

Thursday October 5 - Session 5: Elder Law Attorney, Neil Rabon

Tuesday October 10 - Session 6: Expectations, Emergencies, and Enjoyment

(Note: Not all classes fall on a Thursday)

You may be eligible for an in-home caregiver, at no cost to you, to stay with your loved one while you attend. Learn how to access this service by calling the Alzheimer’s Association at 1-800-272-3900 no less than 2 weeks in advance of the date that a caregiver is needed!
