As a researcher, first at biotech company SUGEN, and then at Pfizer after the companies merged, Dr Cui used structure-based design tools to identify and create Xalkori, a novel therapeutic used to treat a rare and hitherto untreatable form of lung cancer. Dr Cui’s work follows the complete path of drug development, from identification of the target protein c-Met, to the discovery and development of specific inhibitors. Dr Cui is the recipient of the 11th WomenWorthWatching Award for Class of 2013 for female executives that have demonstrated outstanding achievement and leadership in their careers.
