The “Career Networking Event” at Austin Peay will be held Wednesday, Feb. 19, in the Ballroom of the Morgan University Center on campus. Time for this event is 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Sponsors again for 2014 will be the National Alumni Association, APSU Office of New Student Programs, the Office of Career Services, Wilbur N. Daniel African American Cultural Center and the Office of Student Life and Engagement.
This activity is of great value and importance to both alumni and students. The career networking event provides an opportunity for successful alumni to return to campus to spend time with students in one-on-one, small-group or roundtable discussions (not in a lecture format to a large group) to share their experiences, offer practical advice and give students a realistic picture of their respective fields. Please note that this is NOT a career fair; alumni are not here to conduct interviews or hire students at this event. However, in a few instances, jobs have developed from conversations and interaction with alumni at this event.
We, as sponsors, feel it is an incredible opportunity for students to network with alumni and benefit from their advice and experience while speaking with them candidly about important issues that concern them. This is a FREE event for students! Students may come at any time between 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Career Networking Alumni Representatives
If you are interested in being one of our alumni representatives please review the information below. If you cannot attend for the entire four hours, we certainly hope you’ll consider attending for whatever amount of time that suits your schedule. Because we are unable to provide any compensation for participating in this special event, we do hope you’ll plan to stay for lunch that is provided by the National Alumni Association following the event. If you have already agreed to participate, we thank you and look forward to seeing you soon!
You will be categorized by your current field or major. Each alumni representative will receive an attachement closer to the scheduled date that will list which category you will fall under.
Please arrive for set-up around 8:30-8:45 a.m. on the morning of Feb. 19. When you enter the University Center Ballroom, please look for your category (via signage). Your nametag will be located on a table in your particular area.
There are no particular items you will need when you arrive. Some alumni, in the past, have brought: business brochures/flyers, business cards, give-a-ways, etc. This is completely up to you.
