MEDS Ed Education Seminar -

Care of the Transgender/Gender Diverse Individual

Wednesdy, May 9th, 2018 – 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Registered Nurses and Behavioral Health Partners:

This session aims to:

1) Improve your capacity for communicating and interacting in a culturally competent manner with a Transgender and/or Gender Diverse individual

2) Empower you with tools to apply in your clinical environment to improve the experience of the Transgender patient

3) Educate you on the medical management of gender transition, including pubertal blockade and hormone therapy

4) Orient you to the range of surgical procedures available to support gender transition

The content for this session will be directed primarily towards RN partners wishing to improve their fund of medical knowledge regarding gender transition, but all team members are welcome to attend!

Dr. Christina Milano, OHSU Associate Professor of Family Medicine and CoFounder of the OHSU Transgender Health Program, will be the lead faculty for the session, and will be joined in presenting by a member of the OHSU Transgender Health Program team.

This 3-hour workshop is FREE!
