Cardinal View-On Tour

We know you take your college career seriously and we are committed to helping you achieve your goals. During Cardinal View-On Tour, you will learn more about academic majors, campus life, and all Lamar University has to offer!
Here is what happens at Cardinal View-On Tour:
- Meet our five Academic Colleges and Reaud Honors College
- Interact with LU students and alumni
- *Be a part of three presentations; "Time to Shift Gears!", "So, You Want To Be A Cardinal?" and "Show Me The Money!"
- Sign up for New Student Orientation (accepted students)
- Receive information about Residence Life and secure your housing contract
- Visit with the Undergraduate Advising Center
- Hear more about the different study abroad programs and scholarships
- **Visit with representatives from the Financial Aid Office
- ***And, be eligible to win a $500 scholarship!
Important Event Parking Information:
There will be two types of discounted parking for the event. Self-parking and valet-parking. Self-parking will be $5/car and valet-parking will be $10/car.
For self-parking, pull into the parking garage and take the ticket from the machine (white ticket). You will pay at the Front Desk before leaving in order for you to get the discounted parking. Once paid, the Front Desk will provide the validation ticket (yellow ticket). On your way out, insert the white ticket first and when asked for payment, insert the yellow ticket.
For valet-parking, pull in front of the hotel. You will also pay at the Front Desk.
*Presentations are optional. Each will be offered two separate times and are 20 minutes in length.
“Time to Shift Gears!” Transitioning to College (2:15 & 3:45) - We will discuss what happens after a new Cardinal is admitted to Lamar University including topics like Meningitis Vaccination, TSI testing, Academic Advising, Residence Life, Orientation, Financial Aid, Scholarships, The Summer Send-Off Party, Important Dates, and more. Recommended Audience: Admitted seniors, admitted transfer students
“So you want to be a Cardinal…” (2:45 & 4:15) - When do I apply? How do I send my SAT scores? Is there an essay? Be a part of our discussion around the application process for admission to Lamar University so you’ll know what to do, and when! Recommended Audience: 9th-11th grade, future transfer students
“Show me the Money!” (3:15 & 4:45) - We know paying for college is a concern for many families. Join our Financial Aid and Scholarship Boot-Camp for future LU students to help you get started on the right foot. Recommended Audience: 9th-11th grade, future transfer students
**Financial Aid Office: Representatives will be able to assist senior applicants with questions regarding their FAFSAs and aid packages, as well as answer questions for future prospects. "Show me the Money!" presentation is highly recommended to attend.
***One student will be selected at random. Must register by March 20 and attend the event to be eligible.
