A CLIMATOPIAN SPECTACLE ROCK OPERA PERFORMED ABOARD A TALL SHIP

PLEASE NOTE: This is theatre performed outdoors. Dress for cooler weather on the water and bring your own chair, as seating is LIMITED.

The Caravan returns to the West Coast after a thirty-year world tour aboard the Company's 90-foot Tall Ship, Amara Zee, a replica of a Thames River Sailing Barge. They are now bringing their original operatic spectacle, NOMADIC TEMPEST, to Brentwood Bay, for the final performance of the 2018 tour!

Gather at Portside Marina and hope aboard a passenger barge to watch a one-of-a-kind performed on a 90-foot long Tall Ship. NOMADIC TEMPEST is a mythical saga of monarch migrants—embodied by aerial artists—searching for refuge on a drowned planet.

Site Open: 7:00PM

Show: 8:00-9:00PM

General admission seating is limited. Recommended arrival by 7:30PM. Please print or have an electronic copy of your ticket available to present upon entry. "Nomadic Tempest is an incredible assembly of talent, technique, multimedia, and variety. It is beauty, fantasy, technology, complexity, eye-, ear- and mind-filling. And, in the beauty and the power of the performance is a powerful, graphic, sobering portent for our environment." - Dick Pierce, Professor, Eckerd College

"Nomadic Tempest is all so wonderful to watch! You bring a unique and exceptional theatrical experience to our area, which we treasure." - Robin Gordon, Former Professor of Theatre, University of South Florida

In cooperation with The University of South Florida's Patel College of Global Sustainability, Nomadic Tempest was recently awarded the designation of United Nations 2017 International Year of Sustainable Tourism Official Event.

NOMADIC TEMPEST is performed aboard the Amara Zee, Caravan Stage Company's 90-foot Tall Ship, which is a replica of a Thames River Sailing Barge. Audiences gather on the shore to experience original music, soaring vocals, aerial artistry, and large scenic elements backed by spectacular lighting and sound effects. This auditory and visual feast has enthralled audiences of all ages all throughout Europe and North America. Performing in areas most impacted by rising sea levels and the realities of forced migration due to climate change, the Caravan is a diverse, volunteer-driven Company bringing the arts to shores near you.

The production is a continuous cinematic panorama of originally designed video graphics, animations, and images. Within the upper trusses and the lower decks, as the aerialists cavort, a palette of surprises, colors, and mechanical transformations are engineered into this one-of-a-kind experimental rock opera.
