Event description

Description

London Car Free Day will be happening on 22 September 2018 and the planning starts now

It is time to start organising car-free neighbourhoods for the day in 2018 when Londoners can breathe cleaner air and enjoy safer streets. For our local businesses, more slow-moving foot and cycle traffic would also be good news. Particularly around London Bridge and Borough Market, safer street access for pedestrians and visitors to the train station would be a great boon for local businesses big and small.

This informal meeting at London Bridge will bring together key stakeholders and members of the community who want to see car-free streets around London Bridge and Borough Market for at least one day in 2018. All speakers will be participating in a personal capacity to support ambitious thinking on what London Car Free Day 2018 could achieve.

Could London Car Free Day 2018 see more car-free streets than the London Prudential Ride? This is an opportunity to generate ambitious plans for London Bridge and Borough Market and then go from there!

Invited speakers (TBC)

Will Norman, Walking and Cycling Commissioner, TfL/City Hall

Donald Hyslop, Chair, Board of Trustees for Borough Market

Rosalind Readhead, Chair, Campaign for Better Transport (London)

Jack Skillen, Placeshaping Director, Team London Bridge
