Sound for Picture.  Join Capital University's student chapter of the AES (Audio Engineering Society) for a free afternoon of workshops and presentations on these topics and more.  Whether you're new to audio and music production, or have been in the industry for years, the Music Technology Workshop will have something for everyone.

When:  March 29th, 2014
Time:  1 to 6 pm
Where:  Capital University, Conservatory of Music
Cost:  Free

You'll hear from industry professionals, as well as students in the Music Technology program at Capital.  The final schedule is still being determined, but topics such as choosing the right microphone, conducting an music industry interview, DJ techniques using Native Instruments Traktor, foley work in sound for picture, and game audio, will all be part of this exciting event.  There will also be a special performance of the Capital University MIDI Band at the start of the day.
 
A major highlight of Music Technology Workshop will be our keynote presenter, Grammy Award winning producer, Flemming Rasmussen.  Mr. Rasmussen produced Metallica's Ride the LightingMaster of Puppets, and …And Justice for All albums.  In addition to these groundbreaking albums, Mr. Rasmussen has continued his prolific career as a producer in many different music genres, and most recently produced the just released album by Monte Pittman, longtime guitarist for Madonna. Mr. Rasmussen will be giving a keynote presentation at 3 pm, and offering a master class as part of the Music Technology Workshop.

Capital University student chapter of the Audio Engineering Society

The Audio Engineering Society is a nationally recognized professional organization for audio engineers.  Student chapters exist all over the world, and Capital's chapter is among one of the few in Ohio.  The student chapter provides a service to the university and community through audio recording.  In addition, special events are organized on a regular basis.  The Music Technology Workshop acts as the yearly main event for students to show off their skills, organize a major event, and network with area professionals.
