On Friday, November 17, the Capital Region’s business development and advisory community will come together for a day explore how to improve the ecosystem for businesses that deliver and generate social impact through a particular asset case called social enterprise.

The Forum will focus on how social enterprise can provide innovative and sustainable solutions to for economic development in our region while also addressing the economic inclusion of individuals who are often excluded, including migrants, refugees, Indigenous Australians and people living with various forms of disability.

We will also officially launch Capital Ideas, small grants and mentoring program matching social entrepreneurs in the Canberra region with experienced, volunteer business mentors. This event is for advisors new working with social entrepreneurs. We will explore the social entrepreneurial journey and how it can be different from that main-stream entrepreneurs. The day will feature case studies from the Mill House Social Enterprise Accelerator– Canberra’s first, dedicated social enterprise intermediary.

We are pleased to have an excellent line of social enterprise business advisors, social entrepreneurs and social impact investors.

Our keynote speakers include David Brookes, from Social Traders and Devita Davison from Detriot Food Lab in Detriot Michigan, who will share their unique experience building impactful and sustainable social enterprise.
