Event Details

Let's talk the about the future of transportation in the Capital Region! CDPA and the Young Professionals in Transportation organization have joined forces to co-organize a brown bag lunch event at UAlbany's Geography and Planning Department for an interesting forum about CDTA and Capital Carshare and what the future holds for these dynamic organizations.

Ross Farrell is the Director of Planning for the Capital District Transportation Authority where he manages projects and staff associated with strategic planning and service planning initiatives.  These projects have included a county by county restructuring of CDTA’s route system, update to the five-year Transit Development Plan, and planning/design for BRT lines on the Washington-Western Corridor and the River Corridor.

Nnenna Ferguson is the Communications Director for Capital CarShare where she develops and manages ongoing outreach and marketing campaigns including branding, programming and digital media. Recent initiatives include the new “iride iwalk idrive” program a collaborative pilot program with CDTA offering affordable mobility options to the capital region. Nnenna will share how Carshare it works, how car sharing benefits the community, talk about the “iride iwalk idrive" program that will launch on April 1.

Organizer

Capital District Planners Association

CDPA is one of five sections of the Upstate New York Chapter of the American Planning Association (APA). The 30,000-member American Planning Association is the largest national organization working actively to promote both the planning profession and the practice of planning in our communities. APA brings together professional planners, citizen planners and officials, students and others interested in the use of planning to improve their community’s quality of life. Through the nearly 300-member strong CDPA section, we give members the opportunity to explore issues, share information and experiences, and to coalesce around a common identity.

The benefits of membership are many, including networking, technical presentations, professional development, and an opportunity to socialize with other area planners.
