Join Capital Cause on Friday, November 4, 2011 from 7:00pm - 10:00pm for the Capital Cause Changemakers Reception. This Interactive Event will engage guests by asking them to:
Participate in a Poll to Recommend the 2012 Cause (Only Members Vote) * Vote on Recipient of the Capital Cause Voters Choice Award * Donate to a Local DC Charity * Connect Creatively with other Young Professional Changemakers

Guests are asked to wear touches of GREEN and GOLD. Wearing these colors are optional.
Capital Cause will honor its mission of using donor's small contributions to make a large impact by harnessing their collective voice to make a decision on what cause they support. A Capital (money) and Cause (time) grant will be donated to two deserving nonprofit organizations that donors (i.e. New Philanthropists) choose. Below are the finalists:
Capital Grant (Receives a Donation of Money): :
Boys & Girls Club -
CHOICE #1 - The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington-Hopkins Branch would like to use the funds to purchase healthy snacks for their afters school program
CHOICE #2 - National Center for Global Engagement would like to purchase film equipment and send students abroad.
Cause Grant (Receives a Donation of Time):
CHOICE #1 - The Black Student Fund has requested volunteers for their November 20th School Fair, which will connect students with local colleges and universities.
CHOICE #2 - College & Career Pathways, Inc. is based out of Prince George's County and has requested volunteers to serve as mentors and tutors to assist with preparing students to get into college.
Mission: To enable young philanthropists to maximize their financial and skills-based contributions through collective giving.
The Young Philanthropist Program: The Young Philanthropist Program involves members by using their small donations of time and money, combining them into one fund, and asking members to vote on how resources are spent to benefit a cause!
