Event description
Communities Foundation of Texas and The Dallas Foundation have partnered to sponsor the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) study group

About this Event

This pages serves as registration for the 2020 CAP® Study Group program.

The ten-month study group program will run from October 12, 2020, to May 17, 2021 to support professional advisor candidates who are enrolled in the graduate-level CAP® program offered by The American College of Financial Services. There are no fees to join the study group and enrollment is limited.

About CAP®

The CAP® designation is administered by The American College of Financial Services and provides comprehensive education on the strategies of philanthropic planning. The program teaches the skills professional advisors and nonprofit professionals need to advise clients and donors on charitable giving, which in turn maximizes the impact of philanthropic investments within our community.

The Dallas CAP® study group program was the first, and remains, the longest running in the nation. For close to a decade, it has been organized and administered by Todd S. Healy, CAP®, founder, and Rebecca Bates, executive coordinator, for C3 Financial Partners. Since the program’s inception in Texas, Communities Foundation of Texas and The Dallas Foundation have worked closely with Todd and his team to promote the program, which works to equip financial planners, CPAs, estate attorneys, insurance professionals, and nonprofit development and gift planners, with philanthropic planning concepts, while enhancing their listening skills, and building a network throughout North Texas.

“Rebecca and I are pleased to have Communities Foundation of Texas and The Dallas Foundation step up and take over the leadership of this program,” said Todd Healy. “Not only will this assure its continuity and growth, but it is also a great example of the mission of the CAP® program – one of collaboration!”

“CAP® study groups started in Dallas and are sweeping the country,” said Phil Cubeta. “Dallas has more CAPs® than any other city and, as a result, donors and nonprofit organizations in this region have access to the very best strategies for philanthropic planning."
