Talk: Preparing for Quantum 2.0
From lasers to electronics and atomic clocks, quantum science has already transformed our lives. Now, emerging technologies such as quantum computers, sensors and quantum communications, offer the promise of a second quantum revolution. What makes quantum information processing so powerful? How does one cut through the hype to honestly assess its potential? Are you ready to participate in Quantum 2.0?
The talk will be in person, livestreamed, and recorded.
Book Signing:
There will be a book signing event with Dr. Ghose, in partnership with McNally Robinson, celebrating Dr. Ghose's recent book "Her Space, Her Time".
Boomtown:
From 6:15-7:30 p.m., participants will be able to visit Boomtown, a walk through time in Saskatoon from 1910-present.
CAP Herzberg Memorial Public Lecture
This lecture series was named the “Herzberg Memorial Public Lecture” in honour of Nobel Laureate, Dr. Gerhard Herzberg. Dr. Herzberg was a researcher at the University of Saskatchewan (1935-1945), and was a longstanding member of the Canadian Association of Physicists. The lecture series, which follows the CAP annual congress to different universities across Canada, recognizes Dr. Herzberg’s known desire to increase the awareness and appreciation of science amongst the public, particularly youth. Support for the Herzberg lecturer is provided, in part, through a bequest from Dr. Herzberg.
