Canyonlands National Park
For colossal photographic drama of Jurassic proportions and ‘Ol West Get There adventure, you will want to enroll in the Canyonlands National Park Photography Expedition Master Class workshop.
Canyonlands National Park supports 337,598 acres of crimson canyons, stout mesas, flat top buttes, and cathedral spires in the heart of southeastern Utah’s high desert. Water and gravity have been the prime architects of this land, sculpting layers of rock into the rugged landscape you will photograph. The Green and Colorado Rivers divides this national park into four districts, and while they share an aboriginal desert atmosphere, each area retains its own character and offers unique art photography opportunities and travel adventure.
Our workshop will focus on the Island in the Sky District where we will learn grand scenic compositions across vistas that are hard to comprehend. We will explore trails that will take us to rocky rims and overlooks that allow us to shoot the famous White Rim and cliff shadows that caress the Colorado and Green Rivers. Using our 4×4 vehicles, we will then head deep into the spires and rivers along the White Rim Road and Shafer Trail that will allow us to interpret spires and white-cap mesas up close.
This is a land of cosmic hiking, and 4×4 travel to landscapes that few will ever reach, but you will, and you will create some exceptional landscape art photography— guaranteed.
