Description

Canopy Spring Lecture Series: Rethinking Equity to Reweave Communities

You are invited to join an afternoon with Angela Glover Blackwell, Founder in Residence, PolicyLink, and hosts, The Civic Canopy, The Equity Project, and Gates Family Foundation. This annual Canopy Lecture is designed to engage participants in an exploration of how we re-weave the social fabric of communities to build truly inclusive movements that drive change.

How can we move beyond the concept of equity being a buzzword that drives misunderstanding and shuts down dialogue to equity as an avenue to a society that is truly built for the good of all? Is it possible to frame the work of equity in a way that genuinely attracts a fully inclusive cross section of community—spanning social, economic, geographic, and political identities? As we continue the exploration of weaving the fabric of community, Ms. Glover Blackwell will help us consider what it might look like to ensure all voices are at the table and committed to working on behalf of all.
