Canoe Camping Retreat
Fri, Jun 30, 2017, 12:00 PM – Sun, Jul 2, 2017, 12:00 PM CDT
Do you feel the need for some R&R in the great outdoors free from schedules, cells phones, Facebook and fast food? Join us for this weekend retreat and soak up the beauty of nature with great people who share your passion.
Join Nick Gordon (wilderness instructor, Wilderness First Responder and naturalist) Rev. Ted Dorcey (Redemptorist Missionary Priest) and Sr. Julia Walsh (Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration) for a weekend of adventure, contemplation and community in the Northern Highland American Legion State Forest near Marywood Spirituality Center. We will paddle and portage canoes to our campsites and open our senses to the wonders of nature and the freedom of being “unplugged.” Rev. Ted Dorcey will be available for spiritual and sacramental needs. Sister Julia will be available as a spiritual companion. Nick Gordon will foster our awareness about the plants, animals, and elements that surround our contemplative adventure through hands on projects. Canoe experience is beneficial and participants must be comfortable in the water.
Call 715-385-3750 to register and pay deposit of $100 before June 23rd.
$250 includes all meals, program, medical kit, group gear (canoes, paddles, PFDs, etc).
