canning 101: fig preserves on springdale farm!

join stephanie mcclenny of jam & preserves company, confituras, and our hosts at springdale farm as we announce the last of our summer classes on the farm! the last class in our springdale farm canning series will focus on one of the most popular and and seductive (as well as springdale's first harvest of) fruits known to man - figs! in this hands on class we will take you through the basics of canning safety, equipment, fruit and selection. we will also discuss using herbs, liquers, and others flavorings and consider the balance of flavor and sweetness preparing fig preserves. more than a class, these are skills that will last a lifetime! learn how to can now for the upcoming summer and fall fruit bounty. all equipment and fruit is included, everyone takes home a jar of preserves from the class, we will have a jam tasting, and light refreshments will be served. join us!
this is a beginner/intermediate course, but all levels are welcome. stay tuned for more advanced classes in the near future!
