Event description

Description

The Hamilton Community Legal Clinic/Clinique juridique communautaire de Hamilton and the Hamilton Roundtable for Poverty Reduction invite all Hamiltonians to chat with Federal candidates in conversation circles and have a chance to see where candiates stand on topics that affect them most.

We will gather at The Hamilton Spectator Auditorium at 4PM on September 25, 2019. We will hear briefly from community members with lived experience on the topics of immigration, halth and disability, the rise of hate, and indigenous issues.

Community members will then break into 4 groups. Each candidate will then have a chance to sit in each group, provide opening remarks and answer questions for 20 minutes. Then candidates will move to the next group.

The event will be facilitated by expert facilitators in the community to keep decorum, respect and give community members as much time possible to ask their questions. There will be zero tolerance for disrespectful or violent behaviour. Following the conversations, each candidate will be invited to provide closing remarks (3 minutes). We intend to finish by 6PM. The Clinic’s AGM will follow.

We will update you via Facebook and Eventbrite
