About this event
The 2023 municipal elections in Chicago will determine leadership across the city, from mayor to aldermanic seats. Join us for our second in a series of candidate meet and greets.
Ascot Realty President & CEO Jim Ascot is running to represent the city's new 34th Ward as alderman. The newly-formed ward includes the West Loop, Fulton River District, Greektown, Little Italy, and the Loop. At age 9, Ascot immigrated to the United States from Greece, attending public schools and graduating from Lane Technical High School. He holds degrees from Bradley University and Columbia Pacific University.
Ascot, a Democrat, has served as President of the Chicago Association of REALTORS®, Chairman of the Lane Tech Local School Council, Chairman of the 2022 Greek Heritage Parade, and Chairman of the State of Illinois Election Day Voter Registration Commission.
His top priorities as alderman include:
- Eliminating homelessness
- Reducing crime
- Improving quality of life
- Efficient government services
