Event description

Description

There are over 750,000 people of working age living with a cancer diagnosis. This figure is expected to double by 2030. In seeking to remain in work or return to work, employees, their managers and colleagues can face complex challenges.

Maggie’s offers a workshop specifically tailored for line managers and HR professionals to support employees and colleagues affected by cancer. The workshops are free to attend and are facilitated by Maggie’s expert staff.

What the workshop covers:

  • Cancer treatment and potential ongoing effects of treatment
  • The emotional impact of a cancer diagnosis
  • Supporting an individual’s return to work
  • The Equality Act and workplace adjustments

Dates:

  • Monday 2 March, 2pm-4.30pm
  • Wednesday 6 May, 2pm-4.30pm
  • Monday 17 August, 2pm-4.30pm
  • Monday 26 October, 2pm-4.30pm

Booking is free, but as a charity we receive no NHS funding and as such would be hugely grateful if you would consider making a donation to our Centre if more than one person is booking from the same organisation. The suggested donation is £50, which would help us provide an exercise class for up to 10 people to help build strength and confidence during cancer treatment and afterwards. Workshop numbers are limited to allow for group discussion around specific topics.

If you have any questions, please contact the Centre Head, Kerry at Kerry.Craig@maggiescentres.org
