Maximizing the Use of Social Networks in Classroom Environments
Creativity is one of the top needed skills for the 21 Century. However students no longer create in a vacuum, they are part of a social, mobile landscape. How do we help students; create content, build authentic audiences, apply critical thinking skills to curate the content that they consume? How can we harness social media environments to connect with other learners, refine their personal brand and develop digital citizenship skills in authentic ways? In this workshop we will explore these questions and develop skills and strategies to support learners use of social networks for learning.
Develop a deeper understanding of the SAMR model
Explore examples of student creation using social media tools
Learn how to manage and apply social media tools in classrooms
Practice developing creativity and innovation with social media tools
Apply what we have learned in order to successfully teach lessons about social networks
This workshop is suitable for any educators interested in understanding and applying social networks into the class/school.
