[CANCELED] Liberty! Equality! And Fireworks!
Event Information
Description
Update, Jan. 25, 2019: This program has been canceled due to the LBJ Library's closure during the federal government shutdown.
Visit the LBJ Library on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, for a powerful performance of the acclaimed production, Liberty! Equality! And Fireworks!, by the Pollyanna Theatre Company.
Written by award-winning playwright Gregory Perrin, the production takes a new generation of theatergoers into the world of the 1960s Civil Rights Movement. The action is set in a history museum where the play's characters, a group of 4th-grade students (portrayed by adult professional actors), experience key elements of our national history when iconic images from that period come to life. These characters entertain and enlighten, taking children on a fascinating journey through history.
Attend
The play will take place in the LBJ Auditorium, located on the lower level of the LBJ complex, at 2313 Red River St. The play is best suited for children in grades 3-7, however, attendance is free and open to all. (We suggest RSVPing on Eventbrite to get reminders and updates!)
Parking details will be posted soon.
