ECE Essentials Summer 2019 has been canceled. It will be rescheduled for October 2019. More info to come!

ECE® Essentials is a retreat-style training program for new employees in the field of international admissions and credential evaluation.

The instruction combines:

  • The basics of credential evaluation
  • Fraud and forensics
  • Introduction of three major student-sending countries: China, India, Vietnam
  • Professional development topics including modules on cross-cultural communication and working with Chinese students

This two-day event allows attendees to network and establish new collegial relationships in our field. An optional networking event will be available for interaction on Thursday evening. Practical exercises and group work will reinforce the theoretical aspect of the training.

Each attendee will receive:

  • A crash course in credential evaluation to build your knowledge and confidence in your new role
  • Training workbook
  • One-year complimentary subscription to the ECE® Connection Advantage ($300 value)
  • Optional tour of the ECE® Library

ECE reserves the right to substitute a trainer, speaker, or presenter due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts.

What networking opportunities are there?

First and foremost, you will have the opportunity to meet and talk with our trainers as well as your fellow attending credential evaluation professionals.

As a bonus, there will be an after-hours networking opportunity on Thursday evening.

Registration, Payment, and Refunds

How much is registration? What does the registration fee cover?

Early Bird registration is $785 per attendee. The Early Bird registration deadline is May 31st, 2019.

General registration is $845 per attendee.

Registration covers the two-day training, printed and online access to materials, and food and beverage. Food and beverage include two continental breakfasts, two lunches, snacks, and beverages such as coffee, tea, and water.

When is payment due? What type of payment do you accept?

Full payment is due by 8:30 a.m., Thursday, June 27th, 2019.

We will accept online payment by credit/debit cards through Eventbrite. You may also pay via money order or personal check made payable to Educational Credential Evaluators. Any personal check issued by a foreign bank must also list the name of an affiliated U.S. bank.

What additional costs am I responsible for?

You are responsible for transportation, lodging, dinner, and any other costs accrued during your stay in Milwaukee.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No.

What is the refund policy?

A written notice of a cancellation request must be received by mail or email at least 24 hours prior to the training session start time to qualify for a refund. Qualifying refunds, minus a $25 processing fee, will be issued within three weeks of the request. A refund will not be issued if a cancellation request is received after the training session. A hyperlink to session materials will be sent to you within five business days after the training session if you do not qualify for a refund.

Where is the ECE® Essentials Retreat - Summer 2019 being held? Is parking available?

The ECE® Essentials Retreat- Summer 2019 will take place in The Link conference room on the first floor of the Bottlehouse B building on the Schlitz Park campus in downtown Milwaukee. The address is 101 W. Pleasant St. Milwaukee, WI 53212.

Visitor parking is available at Schlitz Park during the hours of the retreat. Request a visitor parking pass in the pre-retreat questionnaire.
