Due to the COVID-19 pandemic crisis and with the health and safety of all of our guests in mind, we will be canceling this event. Get those tool belts ready and shine up your favorite hammer because we're raising the roof for Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity!

But really, you don't need a construction site fashion accessory or tools of any kind for this event because we'll be relaxing and having fun playing games to help Habitat, not building homes.

Since this is a Gaming Gives Back event, half of all ticket sales will be going right to Habitat for Humanity to make a direct impact right in your community by building homes and providing affordable housing for those in need.

What to Expect

Join The Rook Room and Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity Young Professionals, or HYP, for an exciting evening of board games, building games, snacks, and drinks, plus a tour of the Habitat ReStore.

The Rook Room will have its entire game library of 250+ games with a focus on building games (because this is all about Habitat for Humanity, after all) like Suburbia, Jenga, Catan, Carcassonne, Sagrada, Unreal Estate, Santorini, Betrayal at House on the Hill, and many more. The Rook Room's game gurus will also be teaching Catan for anyone who has ever wanted to learn or needs to do some brushing up.

Also, get to know more about Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity and HYP with a tour of the facility and neighboring ReStore! Learn about its mission, how it builds community in the greater Des Moines area, and meet some volunteers.

And what's a night of gaming without snacks and drinks?! Snag some fresh, buttery popcorn from the machine or fill up on warm, delicious cookies straight from the cookie oven. Feel free to BYO B including alcoholic beverages - though, as always, we encourage you to drink responsibly and make good decisions!
