Screening of the Canadian Arctic film "The Grizzlies" with director Miranda de Pencier and cast members Anna Lambe and Emerald MacDonald

About this Event

In a small Arctic town struggling with the highest youth suicide rate in North America, a group of Inuit students' lives are transformed when they are introduced to the sport of lacrosse.

An unflinching and uplifting story of how northern youth transformed a town.

The screening will be followed by a short discussion and Q&A with :

Miranda de Pencier, film Director and founder of Northwood Entertainment, the production company behind "The Grizzlies". De Pencier worked closely with two Inuit filmmakers Alethea Arnaquq-Baril and Stacey Aglok MacDonald to make sure the film is done right.

Anna Lambe, a Canadian Inuk actress from Iqaluit, Nunavut. She plays 'Spring', for which she received a Canadian Screen Award nomination.

Emerald MacDonald, an Inuit artist and actress from Kugluktuk, the town where the movie plays. She is also an Inuvialuit drum dancer and throat singer. In the movie she plays 'Miranda'.
