Event description

Description

This evening will feature Professor Lori Wilkinson, and former refugees Louise Simbandumwe and Daniel Mach speaking on Canada's response to global forced migration and their own experience with the subject. Topics being touched on include the causes of forced migration, a gendered approach to forced migration, personal experiences, and what we can do globally and locally.

There will be time for questions and discussions, appetizers will be served, and drinks will be available for purchase throughout the evening. Additionally, there will be a raffle with some wonderful prizes such as a $200 giftcard to Riverstone spa and a signed Winnipeg Blue Bombers apparel.

Doors open at 6:30 with the event starting at 7:00.

This event is a fundraiser for the World University Service of Canada's University of Manitoba Local Committee, to help fund their student refugee program.
