A heart-opening evening of connection and reflection—to the stars and back—for queer, questioning, and gender-diverse folks. Come share the healing power of cacao, journaling, and astrology in community.

Join us at The Bath House on the Lion's Gate Portal to explore the meaning of this powerful astrological period (July 28 - August 12). We'll learn how it impacts us personally and collectively; find our "luminary"; and reflect and share about what dims our light, or lets it shine.

If you are, or think you might be, queer, trans, nonbinary, bi, or otherwise LGBTQIA+, you are very welcome! We’ll share a cacao ritual (non-traditional but deeply intentional), followed by a brief story of cacao as a sacred—and queer—medicine, then explore the astrology before some guided journaling prompts. After optional group sharing, we'll have free-form time to connect with our heart, charts, and each other.

  • Latecomers are OK! Come when you can, explore what you want.
  • No experience with astrology, journaling, ritual, or cacao necessary.
  • If possible, bring a printed copy of your birth chart from a free site like astro.com, but we can also pull it for you.
  • Fasting for 2–4 hours before drinking cacao is recommended.
  • If you are pregnant, taking antidepressants (particularly SSRIs), or have a heart condition, please consult your health practitioner before consuming cacao.
  • No one turned away for lack of funds—contact the organizer for accessibility.

Facilitated by Riordan Regan (they/them), an artist, ceremonialist, and apprentice of the healing arts. Also a PhD student at the Transart Institute for Creative Research, they explore the ways people connect, transcend, and heal through community, ceremony, and consciousness—through a queer/trans lens. They have hosted workshops and events involving sacred, local, and historical food and drink in the US, UK, and Europe.
